Principal's Update for November 13, 2015

Dear LCMS Bobcat Family and Friends:

Last night, I had the privilege to attend the Band and Chorus Concert at the Alan Jackson Auditorium. Our students did an outstanding job playing and singing songs at this Veterans Day Concert. Congratulations to our students. Thank you to Kathy Allen (Band Director) and Sharon Wills (Chorus and Drama teacher) for their direction and leadership in the Fine Arts Department.

Today, Grade 8 students in Katherine Duke’s English class presented their research on information about the 1950s and 1960s. Students shared with their peers and parents what they had learned about this particular era – detailing key points and attaching illustration and video clips of the era. It was well done, and all students presented with clarity.

As always, please feel free to contact me at chenlc@lcps.k12.va.us if you have questions, concerns, or anything that you would like to share.

The following are some important updates and announcements.

Announcements

Morning Announcers – Ava Huddle and Audrey Hudson
Ava Huddle and Audrey Hudson did an outstanding job with morning announcements. They were clear in their delivery of messages, and they enunciated each word with great accuracyWithout their help, Morning Announcements would not be as fun, enjoyable, or even as informative! From Monday, November 16 to Friday, November 20, we will have two new guest speakers to assist us with the announcements: Kendall Hyer and Hailey Kerstetter.

Spirit Week – November 16
The LCMS Student Council Association (SCA) will be hosting Spirit Week all next week. On Monday, November 16, students may dress up with attire from their favorite sports team. On Tuesday, November 17, SCA is sponsoring Twin Day. On Wednesday, November 18, students may mix match their clothes to illustrate Wacky Tacky Day. On Thursday, November 18, students can wear camo attire, and on Friday, November 20, students may dress up in green and gold to represent our school colors. We hope all of our students will celebrate Spirit Week. As a reminder to our students, all school rules still apply regarding the dress code.
