Principal's Update for October 27-31, 2014

Dear LCMS Bobcat Family and Friends:

I hope that you and your family had a lovely weekend! Much is occurring this week, especially with our dance and game on Friday, October 31.

Congratulations to 2014 Student Council Association (SCA) Class Officers
Recently, students were involved in running for various positions in SCA, including the offices of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer for each grade level. Students spent time writing speeches and putting posters around the school. Everyone who applied should be congratulated for their hard work!Congratulations to the following students: Grade 6 President (Ariana Jackson), Grade 6 Vice President (Savanah Ray), Grade 6 Secretary (Haley Cahill), Grade 6 Class Treasurer (Kelsey Hicks), Grade 7 President (Sydney Cherry), Grade 7 Vice President (Emily Coffey), Grade 7 Secretary (Travis Palmer), Grade 7 Treasurer (Alexis Price), Grade 8 President (Megan Hall), Grade 8 Vice President (Emily Phelps), Grade 8 Secretary (Amber Clements), and Grade 8 Treasurer (Shayla James). My staff and I look forward to working with our students and listening to their feedback and ideas. Thank you to Megan Jackson (Grade 6 SCA Advisor and Science Teacher), Hope Hamblin (Grade 7 SCA Advisor and Social Studies Teacher), and Sarah Mayfield (Grade 8 SCA Advisor and Social Studies Teacher) for putting together this event on behalf of all of our students!

LCMS Dance and Game Night – Friday, October 31
If your child is interested in attending the LCMS Dance and Game Night on Friday, October 31, he or she will need to bring in the permission slip and money no later than Thursday, October 30 by 1:15 p.m. to the Main Office. Please click here: “Game and Dance October 31,” for more information.

Also, on Friday, October 31, the LCHS Athletics Department with Coach Stanley will have their senior night recognition for all teams, including field hockey, gold, football, band, cheer, cross country, and volleyball. Coach Stanley will be celebrating our “Pink Out Game.” There will be a Halloween Costume Contest for students, grades K-8 with prizes, and an announcement will be made for our 50/50 raffle winners, including four prizes of $250.00 and one grand prize of $4,000. PTA Belk Charity Sale and Annual Bobcat Bingo
The PTA needs our support! The PTA is presently selling tickets for the Belk Department’s bi-annual charity sale. The ticket cost is $5.00, which provides you access to the by-invite-only event on Saturday, November 8 from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The first 100 people will receive a Belk gift card worth anywhere from $5.00 to $1,000. In addition, every ticket provides shoppers $5.00 off their first purchase. All proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the LCMS PTA. On Saturday, November 15, the PTA will host its annual Bobcat Bingo. Tickets can be purchased at the middle school office or contact a PTA board member. More information can be found on the PTA link on the LCMS home page. The PTA appreciates your support for our LCMS families and students.

Daylight Savings Time Ends – Sunday, Nov. 2 A reminder that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 2. Remember to turn your clocks 1 hour back.

Wednesday, November 5: Students are back in school. School doors open at 7:40 a.m. This is an “A” Day.
